Because Cameron will CRUSHINATE YOU if you don't.
Ugh.
Dear Fandom, you need to warn for dubcon, noncon, and rape. Yes, you do. Seriously, just do it, I thought we'd been over this. Oh, you need a reason? Fine. Have several.
Reasons to add a warning when posting your rapefic:
1. Because if you don't, you will look like a tool who cares more about people being stunned by the brilliance of your writing than whether you might actually hurt someone who has probably been hurt enough, frankly.
2. Because if you are relying on shock value to make your rapefic effective, you need to write better rapefic.
3. Because 'Character A/Character B' might be enough information in some cases, but not in all of them, and certainly not when it comes to your rapefic.
4. Because common decency that's why.
5. Because we should take better care of each other than that.
So, you know. Use a freaking warning, ok? And if it bothers you that much, the whole common decency thing, then find out how to white-out text, so that only people who need or want warnings can spoil themselves about the content of your no doubt brilliant, awe-inspiring rapefic.
No love,
(not without your explicit consent anyway,)
Me.
P.S. Yes, you should probably warn for a few other things, like extreme violence/torture/darkfic, too. But we are talking about sexual trauma here and just, why do we even need to have this conversation? Seriously, it is beyond me.
